Sweet Vanilla Shea Hair Custard by KisforKinky

4 oz unrefined organic shea butter5 drops of vanilla essential oil (avoid extract since it’s high in alcohol and can dry out the hair undiluted)
2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil
2 tablespoons of jojoba oil
2 tablespoons cup castor oil (you can sub coconut or extra virgin olive oil if you’d like)

to keep the shea butter from being gritty, melt it down in a double boiler. (not sure how to do that? a quick google search will help). after it’s fully melted, add all of your oils to the mixture as well as the vanilla and sir well, but gently, with a wooden spoon. after cooling, add your vanilla shea hair butter to a blender and beat on low until the consistency starts to become softer like a custard. be sure to store your mixture in a plastic container at room temperature or cooler.

you can use this custard on both your hair and body. have fun!

Ayurvedic Hair Lotion

A creamy leave in conditioner made with a blend of Ayurvedic oils.

Created by
Natural Beauty Workshop of Oxford, CT

Ingredients:
1 ounce Amla Oil
1 ounce Mahabhringraj Oil
2 ounces Shealoe Butter

Instructions:

Gently melt the Shealoe Butter over medium heat in a double boiler. As soon as the Shealoe Butter has softened into a liquid, remove it from the heat and add the two Ayurvedic Oils. Whip the mixture until it cools. The cream should thicken slightly as it cools down, but will not become firm. If desired, add a few drops of your favorite Absolute, Attar, or Essential Oil. Jasmine Absolute would be a great choice. Transfer the mixture to a clean jar and allow it to cool completely.

This intensely moisturizing hair cream can be used in very small quantities to add targeted moisture, or to help a hair style hold its texture. Ayurvedic Hair Cream may be especially effective when applied to the ends of the hair, or when it is rubbed into the scalp as an overnight treatment. Please note that this formula may be too intense for some hair types. Experiment with a small amount before using a lot of product. Ayurvedic Hair Cream can be packaged in any 4 ounce jar. I particularly like using Flat White Cream Jars for this
formula.
